I took my top off today and I was wondering if you guys have any little tips i can use to keep people from screwing around with my stuff this is the first time i have ever taken my top off and i live in an apartment complex so my truck has to sleep outside. Is the dew in the morning a problem? should i trow a tarp over it? what do you guys do?
Any help is much appriciated thanks

I use a sticker that says this truck is protected by Smith and Wesson. The dew shouldn't be a major problem unless it is really heavy. I don't seem to have an issue in my apartment area but I don't leave anything in the Blazer that people would want to steal.

well there isnt anything in there to steal and i live in the bay area but more inland so im gonna hope the dew isnt to bad thanks for the reasurence

Do what many contractors do here in So Cal. Leave a motherf*ckin' viscious dog tied up in the back. These dumb SOB use them to keep their tools from walking off. I've almost taken many-a-2X4's to dogs and their owners heads because of this.

Just don't leave them anything to steal.

That just tells a thief that there may be a pistol to steal.

Get a good alarm and make sure to park near your apartment if you are worried about it. I rarely lock my Burb because there is nothing of value to steal in it.

I rarely lock either one of my trucks. Don't leave anything worth stealing in it, and maybe put a battery disconnect on it somewhere.

Park at an angle so the rain runs out. Don't leave anything to steal inside. My top stays off for months at a time. My $10.00 speakerbox grows a little after every rain. Never lock the doors. Nothing in my truck is worth the hassle of finding a cheap piece of glass.

on stick shift trucks ive seen some people weld loops on the shifters and paddlock them together. cant drive off if you cant take off.

like everyone else i just dont leave stuff in my blazer.

Damn, now that's one I like!

I take the top off my 71 all summer. Same advice above, don't leave anything in the truck for them to steal, but remember to not leave things in the glove box like insurance cards, registration, etc either.

They have a battery disconnect that has a big red plastic key that turns the battery off. It's cool because you can take the key with you.

In the end, if someone wants it, they will take it.

Dews not a problem here in Santa cruz, not too far from you. I dont leave anything in my truck either. Wire up the battery to the body and have a wireless switch so when people touch the body ....:eek1::eek::yikes:
But seriously, the only thing you can really do is not leave anything in there, or get a box like an ammo can you can lock and put it somehwere where they cant take it, or get an alarm if your worried about it. I ahvent had a problem at all and I dont exactly live in the best of neighboorhoods. Then again theres nothing for them to take or mess with.

I take the doors of my k30 from time to time, but when they are off they stay off for weeks. I throw a tarp over it to keep the f*ing cats from peeing inside of the cab but other than that I do the same as everyone else; No valubles, and nothing worth tearing out of the dash. Had a neighbor get his $300 memory tach stolen, probably ended up in a honda. When I first started leaving the doors off I was super paranoid and I put my sm465 in neutral and then remove the stick completely. Comes out of there pretty quick! I've also seen people take out their drive flanges and put some metal plates there to keep dust out.

:haha: The nieghboorhood cats do the same thing with mine! I dont get what the attraction to peeing inside it is but at least now I know they arent the only ones.

I dont really worry bout it. I leave my sk8 board and climbing gear in it all the time. I do have a Large lock and cable for my mountain bike and the jack is locked. I stopped stressing out over it. I throw a tarp over it at night to keep the dew out. I get a ton of it here in socal.

Who said the gun was inside? Truly other than my car stereo which is just an old Clarion there is nothing worth stealing in my truck. And if they are going to steal the stereo, at least the doors are unlocked and the top is off so I hopefully won't have to buy any glass.

I don't tend to get a lot of dew here in UT but I park in the carport when the top is off.

My tailgate locks normally ( at least it did when it was still on thr truck). Actaully it just prevented the window from rolling down, and since you would have to roll the window down to open it...it was locked
