I ordered a new dash pad from Cheyenne and I'm trying to install it. The passenger side is noticeably higher and the middle is lower. The driver side seems ok. I installed new dash speakers so I thought this might be causing the passenger side to sit higher, so I just removed the speaker all together but it didn't change anything. The clips are fully seated and the bottom seems to line up, but is slightly angled up towards the right. One thing I noticed on the new pad is there is a missing clip in the middle, but there is an X marked on the bottom leading me to believe it wasn't installed on purpose. Anyone seen anything like this?

Pics don't do justice to the sharp rise on the passenger side

It looks funny, but is normal to see on other dash pads. You can see it in this video.

I have the same issue, I got it livable but in the same spot it’s high. Looks way better than the original cracked dash. :surepal: And 100tines better than the dashes direct crap that LMC sent me.

I'm pretty convinced this is a factor of it being too low in the middle instead of too high in the right. Looking at the pad, I don't see any extra material on the right or anything that would cause it to sit high. I think the lack of a clip in the middle is causing it to sit low in the middle. I'm going to call Cheyenne tomorrow and see what they say.

Well I was wrong. After installing and uninstalling this thing probably 15 times now, I can conclude that it has nothing to do with the missing clip and everything to do with the way the dash pad was molded. There's too much material built up where the 2nd to right clip mounts, so it's causing the pad to sit high. I could probably sand it down some but I think this is unnecessary on a $525 dash pad. I also added some material in the middle to raise it a bit, but it's still noticeable.

That sucks, but I agree with you, for the money you’d expect it to be plug and play!

I was able to build it up in the middle using some rubber strips, so it looks a little better now and good enough for me, but when I reinstalled the A-pillar trim, there was close to an inch gap between it and the pad. Now this I can't live with. This is so frustrating.

They don’t sit flush like factory, just have to live with it... the one I got for my old c10 only two of four clips(I think) engaged on the dash... so there was a slightly raised part in the middle.

Mine was from LMC, usa1 is allegedly “better” but their customer service and ship times are garbage.

in my blazer mine is cracked but I’m not changing it out. If anything I’ll get the cheaper cover that plops right over the old one...
