I have the arm rest, screws along the bottom and window crank removed. Do I need to remove the handle? The door panel seams stuck on the top. I can move the bottom out. This is on a 78 K5.

press in towards the glass at the top while pushing upward from the bottom...

Yup. The top edge has a row of clips that hook down and under the top edge of the sheetmetal. Press the top edge towards the outside of the truck, and down a little at the same time, at one end, and get them to slide around the metal and then you can lift it up. Work your way to the other end.

Be sure your window is rolled all the way down.

In some cases I have just yanked real hard on one end to get the first clip out. It usually just bends, but I've always been able to bend them back into shape to put them back on.
