Here's the skinny, 75 k5 blazer, locking hubs, power steering, reg. tires, no lift. When driving the steering wheel is "normal". Out of no where, the truck wants to veer right and you have to compensate 1/4 turn to keep it going straight. It WILL revert back to normal if turned left ( HARD) , but will happen without warning when going straight. Have replaced steering box, pitman and most components under the truck. HAVE looked for frame cracks ( can't find any ) and it is driving me CRAZY. Can't drive it very far. Any Ideas. I have had this truck for over 18 yrs and hate to get rid of it

also check the spring bushings.if they are 18 years old they are most likely falling apart or non existent.also check steering collum rag joint at the box and the upper coupler into the shaft.

Check the tie rod ends and drag link ends.. also the ball joints. The veering could be a combo of the above when you hit a rut in the road(and well used roads have them).

I'd also check the adjustment on the box. My 89 used to do exactly as you described, but it was the original box with 350k miles on it(yeah, you read that right.. I bought the truck because it had a crate motor and new trany in it). Instead of dicking with it, I bought a used 4wd box and bolted it in and the problem went away. I think the actual problem was an adjustment in the box, but it would wander one way or the other and was impossible to keep going straight without turning the wheel one way or the other.

Most reman'd boxes aren't adjusted right from what I've read... I'm not real sure on the procedure but I think I've seen a write up somewhere.
