Hey Guys,
Im soon to be needing a pair of tube doors for my 84. I did some searching and came up kinda empty handed. My biggest concern is hoping to find doors with a fairly high and preferably straight top bar to use as a arm rest and aid in making the passenger feel a bit more secure. Any links or suggestions would be great.

WOW. 345 bucks. I need to start making tube doors! :haha:

I bet if you bought DOM tube and took the time to do the engineering and bending you would find 345 aint too bad at all. Sure 345 will get you two to three sticks of tube but there is alot more to making tube doors then just buying tube. I have a bender and built myown cage & bumpers but I will buy DIY doors when I'm ready and can afford them. Not worth my time to build them and figure out the latch assembly and hinge setup. I can just work one Sunday and there paid for. Buy them and bolt them on, done.

I am aware of what it takes to build those doors... I guess I just never really saw the "customer" side of fabbing. I built about 10 gates for PG and E a while back that where 4" pipe and looked almost identical to those but alot bigger. When you make a lot of them it's a different story then making 1 set. Really I wouldn't say theres much engineering there... three bends a gusset and some sheet metal work.

Like I said I'm looking at it from a fabricator's view. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.

By the way your doing well if your making 345 bucks on a sunday.:eek1:

I have the ones from Blazenoffroad, there simple and they have a mirror option that I needed. Here is a picture of my nephew using them to "feel a bit more secure"

I think I could make something similar out of 2" box and match it to the body pretty good. Just what I needed another project.
