Putting truck back together and forgot to label a few wires.

I need to know where the black with red stripe wire from the battery goes. I know the larger wire goes to the starter. I thought the black/red stripe goes on the the smaller terminal of the starter. But it looks too short.

How many wires go on the starter?

1990 K5 Blazer.

Thanks all.

I should be firing up the new motor tommorow!!!

let me think....
1. Main lead from the bat. (positive)
2. solinod trip wire(smaller wire with about 1/8 inch eye hook)
3. Power lead to rest of the truck. (medium wire that hooks onto the same terminal as the battery wire.)

At least thats' how it works on my 88. Hope this helps.
Mike

You call that dirty!?

This is how my 89 is wired . your 90 should be the same.
The black wire with the red stripe goes to the alternator.
The starter has the big wire from the pos side of the batt and a solid red wire on the big center termnial. The small black colored wire goes to the little terminal on the starter

I thougth that also but it looks short, I will check it again in the A.M. . Does yours run across the intake manifold to the alt on the drivers side?

Thanks

Thunder,
Thanks I think youre right on! I just finished downloading some pics from my digital camera. and I think I can see the wire coming across the manifold.
Thank god for modern technology, I always take picures of my projects, cuase in my old age I CRS.

Will check it out in the A.M.

Yeah. It goes across the front of the intake manifold.
And yur Welcome. Also. Dont forget to hook up the solid red #10 size wire to the big center connector on the starter. That red wire is what Picks up the power for all the elecrical stuff, Including the ignition

Thanks again all.

I was just bummed and burnt out yesterday.
I really wanted to get it back on the road after 11 days of rebuilding.
