Hi there guys and gals. My name is Mark. I'm having trouble with the power lead to the distributor on my 80 K5 blazer. I don't have any power from the pink wire coming from the ignition switch. It also seems that there isn't any power to the ignition leads coming from the fuse box. Does anybody know where that wire gets it's power from? Thanks in advance for any and all help.

A little bit more of a background on it. I bought it as a non running vehicle. It needed a new key and tumbler turn signal switch I replaced them. As I turned the key after replacing the key cylinder I noticed that it didn't feel right I found that it didn't have a ignition switch in it so I installed it then it wouldn't start so I checked power at the distributor and didn't have any. Traced the wire back to the ignition switch and it never gets power in any position and that's when I get a wiring diagram out and pulled the fuse panel from the bulkhead connector to see if there is any power to the ignition leads on the fuse panel and nothing. So any help would be greatly appreciated Mark

Check the terminal block mounted on the firewall near the brake booster. If you don't have power there, it may have a bad fusible link.

Does anything have power?

Yes the fuses have power. But anything that is powered by the pink wire doesn't. No power to the two ignition leads on the fuse panel and going to the instrument panel and the distributor lead

There up to 3 fuse links. Check the smaller wires at your starter main cable stud. If they look melty pull on them, if they stretch they're bad. these feed the ignition switch most of fuse bloc shouldn't have power if switch doesn't or isn't in on position. Maybe some PO shenanigans going on.

West you called it when you said shenanigans. Someone had the pink lead in the wrong spot in the ignition switch. It was even in the wrong connector. Now I know that kind of stuff is possibly going to be going on with this thing. Thanks for everyone's input. Mark
