Help!!

How in the H-E-double hockey sticks do you get the steering arm off the knuckle??? The thing is stuck on there, may as well be welded! It's the lifted steering arm & I need it for my Blazer, it's on a 3/4T 10 bolt. I've beat on it with a sledge hammer till I about had a heart attack to no avail. I sprayed WD-40 on it, let it sit a hour or so & that didn't work. Those little cone shaped deals are stuck in there. Currently it's been re-sprayed with WD & sitting overnight. Any suggestions?

The other thing is I need new center pins for the rear spring packs, 5/16"X4". Anyone know a place to get 'em?

Also, any tips on getting the bolts out where the front leaf bolts to the front mount? I have the nut & washer off & I was able to use the hammer to get it flush with the bracket, but now I can't get it to go any further! It has poly bushings, could they just be gripping the bolt super tight?

Heat , hammer , heat , hammer . Gonna take a good bit to get it off , I am in pretty dry country here and mine needed persuading too .

I found some 4" 5/16" allen head bolts to use for center pins, should work.

So I can heat the steering arm without damaging any axle seals or the ball joints? Thats why I didn't try the torch, was afraid of hurting something.

i used a sledge and a good long time of pounding till i about died... just gotta keep massaging it

Use a chisel to open and spin cone washers in a loosening direction; then a BFH!!

Use something better than WD-40. Like PB Blaster, Kroil, etc. Still will need the BFH & heat though

if its what im thinkin it is, an air powered impact hammer and a ball joint seperator. you should be able to rent one from pep boys or the like. even if you dont have the impact hammer, just having the tool, and hitting it with a hammer helps.

Loosening the conical washers helps, as does pb blaster.

When you hit it with the hammer hit it sideways not up or down you want to get the washers loose from the arm. Hit on it for a while, soak it come back later and do some more.

I also heated just the area around the washers on the arm then hit it with a hammer, then let it cool, spray and hammer some more.
