Alright, i have a 1983 K5 blazer and there are some things i need to fix. First of all the dash lights dont work...
I replaced all the lights and the fuse and that didnt help.
Secondly my speedometer doesnt work at all, like sometimes it will randomly shoot up to 85 and thats about it.
And then there are some things that i would just like to know what they are. If someone can explain how to put a picture up i can show you the things and you can tell me what they are.
Umm i replaced the window motors and put in new done lights and a new sound system, no subs yet but thats next, so im improving it little by little.

IMG_6929.jpeg this is one thing, it idk what it is or what it goes to, its just chillen there and looks as if something should be plugged into it, or its for an accessory.

You either join up as a member and post pics. (Recommended if you want to actually learn and read through all the other forums here) Or upload to a website like photobucket and copy the image link from there to your posts here.

Speedometer is mechanically driven. It's possible that the gauge itself is bad, but more likely that the cable is gummed up and/or broken.

The cable connects to the transmission, just threads on, and then snaps on to the back of the instrument cluster (which is a royal pain to get to, hopefully you have small hands.)

You can get magic speedometer grease which is some variety of graphite lube; pull both ends and lube them, then refasten tight and see if it's happy.

Might have to replace the cable (not expensive, but labor-intensive to run the it through the firewall grommet.)

Dashlights are driven by the dimmer switch, so it may be on its way out. I'd fiddle with it and see if the lights pop on and off while you turn it, indicating a loose connection on it, and then replace it.
