hey guys, im currently in the process of herculining my entire interior. my top which is suposed to be black, is pretty much white from fading. since the tops originally have a rough texture to them, i was thinkin bout herculining the top too. what do you guys think? how would it look? anybody done it b4? pics? thanks guys

I dont see any reason not too. the OEM texture was rough, so it would look pretty close to stock. Only drawback I see is weight, though on these pigs a few pounds shouldnt make much of a difference. I would not hesitate. Good luck...

ya thats what i was thinking, and since im gettin to be a pro at it, why not. plus teh faded top is makin my truck look crappy!

i think it'd be fine for the cap... just prep it good...

how did it cover on the inside? a gallon do 2 coats on the whole floor?

well i havent done mine yet, i jus finished the prepping. however i did help a friend do his. we took out everything, all side trim and everyting except the trim on the doors. we did all the sides, tailgate everyting else with 2 thick coats with a gal and bout 1/2 quart. it could easily be done in 1 gal, but we had alot of spots where we had done rust patching and wanted to make sure to hide that so we they were thick coats. it looks really good. once i get mine finished ill post pics. should be within a week or so.

cool... thanks... the Herculine is what i decided on too... prolly be ordering a gal in a week or so... its getting old running around with brown painted floors.. ;)

Make sure you get the UV resistant - I used Herculiner in my truck bed and it faded in one summer. When I recoated it, to fill in all the scratches it faded in about a month again. Sure looked good when i first put it on.

uv resistant? where can i get that stuff? i got mine at autozone for my interior, but i dont think they had the uv resistant kind.

I did my whole interior with about 1/2 gallon, no it may not be very thick but it sure hasnt scratched or pealed up even after throwing the hi-lift and all that crap around in there, I personally dont like it shiny when you first put it on so I couldnt wait till it faded and got dull.
