So do I --wonder if its been scrapped yet?...it angers me to see decent trucks with potential get crushed...it sure looks solid in the photo, but maybe its rusted more than it looks when you get to see it in person.
I see many ads that say "its going to scrap this week",sometimes I think they put that in the ad to make someone like me buy it in a hurry!..
It would be a cool truck to have even though its only 2wd...
I have a flatbed that would bolt on it too, though its in need of floor wood and some paint..but alas,it would cost as much as they want for it,to register and insure it,and get a title,etc..out of my reach..
That V6 gmc engine and SM 465 were pretty unbreakable...and rare, you just dont see many of those V6's any more, school busses here had them back in the day and they proved to be extremely reliable and durable engines..
About the only complaint I've heard about them was the crappy Stromberg 3 bolt carbs they used,I remember selling some of those Mr. Gasket carb adapters to allow a Rochester or Holley 2 bbl carb to be bolted up to one..
I saw a 1964 GMC 4x4 in a scrapyard about a month ago..thought it was waiting in line to be squashed!..I walked over to it and looked inside,it was a 4 speed, and it looked real decent inside..noticed it had the "V6" emblems on it too,and it was a 3/4 ton!..then I noticed a coffee cup and sunglasses on the dash, and I saw it had plates on it!--and a guy comes walking over and says "HEY!--whadda U doing??..that MY TRUCK!..

..
I shook his hand and said "just admiring that sweet old GMC,you dont see many of these any more!..we stood there shooting the breeze about it for a good half hour!...he said "I'd sell it for 5 grand"...nothing I could buy right now,but if I had the cash I probably would have been very tempted!..a truck like that or a 4x4 61-66 panel truck suburban with the V6 & 4 speed would be one of my "dream" trucks to own..
