WTF?? is it files. anyway all the bulbs work but when i turn on the left turn signal only the front blinks. and when i turn on the right turn signal only the rear works???? like i said all the bulbs are new and work. thanks

Check the wiring, just about anything could cause that. I found several broken wires in my quest to get the lights to work on my '76 K20.

check the rear harness thoroughly.. with them running down the frame they seem very prone to corrsion and shorts.. i found a couple spots that had welded themselves together.. also check the wheatherpack connectors in the back.. grounds too...

If everything else checks out you might look at the turn signal cam in your column.

it makes the blink blink sound in the column.:rotfl: i just rigged a ground today on a bumper support.its a 79 what color should that wire be? it was silver the eye broke off so i just used a bolt and nut with the old eye as a washer to hold the bare wire in place. just for the ground.

Hitch???

Gotta trailer hitch??--check the plug for the trailer wires--I find a lot of problems there when lights start acting goofy...

The directional switch is a possibility--but I'd check every wire, socket, grounds, and bulbs before taking the steering colum apart..the wires under the dash where they leave the colum might be partially unplugged at the connector--also where they leave the fuse box on the firewall side often get corrosion ....good luck..

well tonight i checked the lights(easier when its dark) for the brake lights. anyway with the head lights on when i hit the brakes the right side works and the left side goes out. with the lights off both rears work? like i said i made a ground in the bumper support.WTF??

Bad grounds...

Sounds like you still have no ground at one of the tailights, and it backfeeds into the other light when you apply the brake--both tail lights have a separate ground....maybe when you snipped the trailer hitch wire off,one of the was a ground for one of the taillights?....

my dad had a k5 that had a problem like that, it turned out to be because of a steering column swaped into the wrong model year truck. the PO did a bad job splicing wires.
