Well I can't get the damn video to load. Imagine the u bolts backed off on the top spring plate on a front axle and the whole thing moving back and forth.

been there years ago with a dana 60 on 38" tsl swampers @ 60mph . . . dam steering wheel wouldn't center back in the same spot after turns . got out and there was the u-bolts dangaling about to fall off.

lesson learned that day DO NOT RE-USE U-BOLTS ! ! !

I had the not centering to same spot one time. Broken center pin. Spooky feeling. No fun.

Had a rear end come loose once. Noticed it when I was going around a long sharp curve headed home from work one day, all the sudden had rear steer.

Made home and started looking for problems when I noticed scrape marks a couple inches on each side of the u-bolt plates. U-bolts loose, center pin broke and twisted the u-bolts on the other side from back and forth movement. I use a torque wrench on them now instead of getting them as tight as I can with a 1/2" ratchet like I used to.

My guess is the proper retorque procedure wasn't followed, there's no evidence of any threadlock.

I've been messing with musclecars for awhile, do you guys use lock washers or no?

lock washers these days suck quality wise .

and good quality u-bolts don't use lock washers .

my problem was 1 month old u-bolts and I backed them off to add in a angle wedge to help pinion angle and ran them down again . . that was mistake .

u-bolts are like stretch bolts 1 time use is the best method to safety !

and up here in the rust belt it dosnt take long for them nice quality fine thread u-bolts to rust the nuts on in place .
