When i give my truck light gas when it is warmed up it is hesitant almost sputerring. if i slam on the gas is starts to dump gas and fall on its face and eventually starts to get moving better. Any ideas? it has a new fuel pump/distributor and all that good stuff. I don't have the kickdown cable hooked up but it never did that before... Also, is there any advantage to having my old throttle body rebuilt? i'm not sure if the gasket leaks (probably not) just curious. and if so, are there any performance upgrades for a stock throttle body? thank you!

thats what i thought. any idea what the timing should be. it's a 1987 chevy v10 with a 5.7 all stock with throttle body.

If you have the 700r4 trans you must have the cable hooked up to it. It is not a "Kick down cable" It is the throttle valve cable. It controlls shifting, line pressure and other vital functions. Running it without the TV cable hooked up can blow your trans and cause shifting problems.

Timing should be set at 0. The timing bypass wire must disconnected when setting timing.
It is a tan wire with black stripe coming out of the wire loom by the brake booster.

I did know that, but I converted my 700r4 to a th350 about 4 months back. I assumed the th350 was a kick-down, but i'm not 100% on that one. Where can i get the cable to hook up? one guy gave me a link i have to follow up on. I was told the th350 was alot better of a tranny for the abuse.

You should be ok if you have a TH350 without the cable.
Check your timing. Plug wires ok? Sometimes a bad distributor module will run good when cold then cause problems after they get warmed up.
Coolant temp sensor could also be bad.
