So my 86 blazer is having some serious hesitation problems. It hesitates when I am trying to accelerate. If I baby the crap ot of it it won't buck or hesitate or anything. But if I give it just a little too much gas it bucks so hard I feels like the engine died but as soon as I get off the throttle it fine. It does it especially bad when going up hill and the rpms start dropping. At idle the engine purrs , the idle is too high and I can't get it to come down (like 1200 rpm and the idle screw it all the way out), but it's running like crap when ever I try to accelerate quickly or go up an incline ... Any Idea would be great. BTW I already searched and couldn't find anything. Thanx again

does it start hard when its hot like the starter can't turn it over? If so I'd say your timming is off. Too much advance can cause it to idle high and hessitate when you hit the gas fast. 
I should be running about 8* before the 0* on the timing mark ( to the left of it as you are looking at it) thats 8 * advanced right ? one question what vacuum port should I rn my advance off of on my q jet and would that make any difference ?

I believe the vacuum line to the dist should come off the carb, but not 100% sure on that. Either way though I don't think it would cause the problems your seeing.
I'd look for a vacuum leak. Seems to me high idle that you can't adjust down could easily be a vacuum leak. Maybe I'm thinking too much of motorcycles though...

Sounds like the choke to me.... whenever a carbed motor starts up the choke should be on and stay on for a little while.... while its on it's going to fall all over itself until it comes off. The choke is why it is idleing high so don't worry about that ( assuming your running a carb ). If its not the choke then i would say vacuum leak.

Had a similar problem with mine. I found white star burst patterns on the plug wires where they were near anything metal. Replaced cap, rotor, and plug wires. Ran fine after that.

Also had arcing between plug wires causing misfiring and firing the wrong cylinder at the wrong time. Constant throttle was fine, acceleration sucked (the engine would bog, buck and snort) and eventually when starting, it would buck when hot.

Only thing i can think of is timing then... or maybe a problem with the carb. I don't know jack about carbs but since he said it does it on hills could it have something to do with the floats?
Do you hear any "whistling" when you rev it up? The symptoms sound like a vacuum leak but if you can't find one then I'd say check the timing. If the timing checks out see if you can get a buddy to fiddle with your carb for a 12 pack or get it serviced at a shop.
