the corvette servo is for the 700-r4 tranny it allows for more holding pressure on the 2-4 band. It causes a quicker harder shift into second. It is a very easy mod to do.
I have a vette servo in my 97's 4L60E (wich is pretty much built like a JET tranny). It has a quick firm shift, but not overly harsh. Any time you have a smooth shift it basically means wear.. firmer shift = less wear. If the 700 in the 89 K5 goes... I'll probably do the same basic build to it.
