Do you got any pictures of how the Wilson screws on to its mount? I am wondering if I can just get a mag mount and possibly put a mount on the toolbox when needed. people say trucker for the toolbox what do you think?

I'll take more pics for you in the morning so you can see how the Wilson 1000 works.

No problem, it's a digital camera, and I like taking pics anyways. It's easier for me then too try too explain it in words, LOL.

Wilson 1000. The Wilson 5000 will screw onto this mount also.

hmm, thats pretty different lookin, maybe i will be best off just getting an SW2000 and putting it on the toolbox. What do you think?

Personally I'd go with the Wilson 1000 mounted too the hood like you were talking. Just take off antenna and screw down cap when not it use. Pretty simplle and easy, and you'll have a top quality antenna. Just paint mount and cap too match hood and it will be hardly noticable at all.

You think that will be alright with the coil not being above the cab? Everyone says i want that up high, so the SW2000 was suggested... painting the cap rusty, black, primered might be a bit difficult! hahah

Do you plan on using the CB all the time, or just for on the trails ?? If just on the trails, the hood should be fine. If you're not worried about looks, weld a small lip in the back of the cab for the trunk mount too clamp on. (I've done that on a few pick ups) That would get it up high. Or you could always use a 102" with a Pot belly spring on a Acorn mount

Think 102" Stainless Steel whip like in my previous reply. In my honest opinion, nothing out preforms the 102" Stainless Steel whip. Just don't have the room in the car without drilling hole in truck lid, and I really don't want too do that. You can get the 102" Stainless Steel whip, the heavy duty spring, and the acorn mount all for around $30.00. You can mount to tool box or bed rail.

alright, thanks for the help Z3PR... i guess time will tell what i do...appreciate the help!
