I'm building a 87 blazer. B-52 from DIY4X was installed with 52" stock rear springs minus the short leaf. Hi cross over steering was installed. Rig still in the making but noticed crossover rod just under frame brace, roughly 1-1 ¹/2" clearance. Haven't had time to flex suspension yet. Is there a nominal clearance to be safe? If cross brace needs to be notched, I'll notch it. Winch box was made out of 3/8 plate steel so I have that as a brace also.

that's the downside of hi steer, the clearance.

required clearance has a lot to do with your particular setup and much up travel you have in it.

I've got cross over and high steer with hydro assist. It's tight under there, but very doable. I notched my factory cross member under the engine. But would recommend the ORD cross member.

Before notching how much clearance did you have? What's the clearance after nothing? Any other problems?

I'm only running a 4" lift, and I had contact when it was really flexed out. Other than that, I've had no issues since I clearance the cross member.

56s and hi steer with hydro here. I had to remove the factory crossmember.

Probably could have notched it but I redid the steering box bolt holes too, easier with it out of the way
