Northern Hydraulics also has good deals on them. I got the 60" jack for less than $50. Also check the specs. Most of the time the more expensive price is for the all cast jack.

Burt4x4, Which parts aren't cast, that would fail? Not sure which type I have, It's a Hi-Lift HL-484.

Re: Hi-Lift jack\'s

The base & the bracket at the top. I think that is it. The weight ratings are the same for both. I have the cast & steel and it has always worked great, on the trail, street, and around the yard and shop. The all cast jack is red and the cast & steel jack is black.

Re: Hi-Lift jack\'s

The head pins that climb up the cast ladder is much smother and dependable. once on the trail I couldn't get the steel/cast one to decend or lower so a buddy had to whip his out to get mine out from under the rig. turns out the climbing part bent

. So chucked it and got the all cast one with the black handle.
The SEC rear bumper carrier pic has the cheaper HighLift style bolted to it! Go to the venders page on the new styles section to see the style that failed for me.....

Re: Hi-Lift jack\'s

For Burt4x4,

You are correct, in the pictures is the cast/steel Hi-Lift jack, model HL-484.
This is the jack I use as jig in the bumper manufacturing.
Actually, I have 3 Hi-Lift jacks, 48" cast/steel and 48" cast/cast and the 60" cast/cast.
