i have 40/17/15Lt does the 17 means the width of the tire then would the width of the rim would be lik a 14 or 12 or 11

Rim width is a personal choice as mentioned in your other post. Yes the 17 is the width of the tire. You can run whatever rim width you would like, but a 12" wide rim is as wide as I would go personally. You could go to a 14" wide rim and be fine with a 17" wide tire, but that is just a lot of leverage hanging off the end of and axle especially with a 40" tire.

thanx for helpin ya right know mine are in the finder well not stickin out so im think its prouply 15x8 or 12 wide somethin liek that
