hidden vin on the frame

looking to find where the vin is on the frame want to run it.
was told its a 77 chassy and 82 body.

At least on the 80's trucks, there is a partial vin on the passenger side, on the top of the rail just rearward of the body mount under the front footwell.

In the 70's, prior to moving back further, I believe the partial VIN stamp on the frame is on the top of the rail next to the steering box.

On my '81 frame, the partial VIN is under the drivers seat area on top of the frame rail. I remember that specifically, as I watched the State Patrol inspector crawl under there with a dental mirror to check it.

I have seen partial VIN's stamped in the side of the frame rail under the cab floor on the truck I made a pickup box trailer out of.

I've got my cut up frame from my 87 on the side of the garage. I'm going to look for the partial VIN. If I can find it I'll take a pic of it.
