Hey guys, I just installed a hidden winch on my 72! It really was not that hard. Just noticed a couple of post about this topic a while back. So I was just wanting to show a pic of mine after I installed it. Could take some more pics if anyone wants to see how it when in. I also built the prerunner bar for the front. By no means I'm I Jesse James I just enjoy goofing around! I have really enjoyed this site. :D

Thanks! It's about time to see if it works! I have just completed a bunch of work on her. I just cant get whats wrong with the timing! I will post some pics when I get home. I working out of town. Runs good and bad good then bad. My @#%^&$# dist is hitting the fire wall. And I have already beat the wall a little and cut the transfer case lowing kit in half!! But I'm getting close! I'm tired of just driving her to the store!!

Looks Good, definitely need more pics.

On the dizzy issue, I got sick of mine against the firewall or bumping it while flexing and cut a square hole and had a little box built that goes back into the firewall near the back of the stereo to give more clearance.

Just cut the square out measured and took a little drawing to a guy that does metal work and he welded the open box up with flaps and I drilled and riveted it to the firewall for more clearance.

I thought i would share a pic of my hidden winch as well. Its an 8000lb electric mile marker mounted to a universal winch mount that i cut off each end to slip into the frame upside down. I then relocated the control box up behind the grill with a cut out to connect the cable and access the switch. I had to cut out a section of the frame in front on each end and then welded them back on. It works great. i then built the bumper.
