I was wondering if it is worth the money to get a high flow water pump:thinking: or if I would be fine getting another regular one. The price difference is quite large :yikes: so thought I would get some opinions before buying.:1zhelp:

The reason being I need one is because the one I have now will start to hum:doah: after a while and thats when the temp will start going up some and drops when it stops making ghostly whirring noises:grin:

Also its for a built 350 pushing about 400 horses if that helps any

Thanks

Cool I was hoping so because I didn't want to spend an outrageous amount on one.

When do you actually need a high flow pump though???

To be honest, NEVER. Once you understand how the system works you will be much knowledge ahead.:D

I don't know that I can agree with never, but I'm quite sure that hi-flow pumps are commonly thrown at poorly operating systems as a band-aid when simply going to quality, stock parts would fix the problem.

I had what appeared to be a good function water pump on a car I bought. Ran fine around town, but as soon as you put any load on the engine it would start to over-heat. After checking/replacing everything else in the system I replaced the pump with a Stewart Components pump & then I had a new problem; getting the car to warm up!

I love my stewart high flow put in my Astro when it had a V8 and its going in my Suburban when it gets done.
