First of all, I have to admit I am not a huge fan of high lift jacks. I owned one for years, and it always did me a good job.

But, I took pretty good care of it, and cleaned and oiled it from time to time. Most of my friends had one, and I have suffered more damage and pain from them than anyother single thing I can remember.

Either the handle would clock me under the chin, I would have to pull the jack pins out with a pair of pliers, or it fell over.
In any of four directions.
Even so, it was very useful, just usually a pain to use.

The video below, is so boring I think I actually slipped into a mild coma once. Its tells how to move a shed, and somehow makes it so dull...........

But a few minutes in, he shows what I am pretty sure is a high lift jack mounted in a kind of "A" frame.

I'm not real impressed with the build quality of it, and I could see where it would be in the way for a lot of uses, but I think it has potential.

Maybe modify it so that it is stronger, especially on the bottom, make it where it can be removed an put back on quickly, and it might be quite useful.

You might make it part of a mounting frame. Fix it so it could be locked to the truck, and the jack mounted on it.

Then just the jack could be removed, or both if its needed.

Just a thought.

How one hit you in the chin and you still have teeth amazes me. I had one fly by my head once and I could hear it sizzle by. No way I would have walked away from that.

I knew a guy that broke his jaw with one jacking up his car to change the tire. The worst part is he had to finish changing the tire before he could drive to the hospital.

i had a buddy show me some tricks that i believe may help you.

1) have someone make you a big ass base plate to go on the jack (we did our's by making the plate out of 1/2 steel in a 1x1 square and welded side walls to hold the jack in the center. then ran bolts horizontally to hold jack in place)

2) get a 2-3 ft piece of steel pipe to use as an extender for the jack arm. slide it over existing arm and it gives you both more leverage, and a safer distance so as to avoid hitting yourself in the chin.

Both of these can be stored in the truck, or in my case i make mounts to go on my bumper to hold them.

That brings the suck worse than just about anything I have heard. I broke my jaw at the hinge on my driverside , along with my eye socket and shoulder playing baseball, and let me tell you that that is some real deal, no bs pain. The only thing so far that has hurt worse, was broken ribs, and breaking my femur and shoving the broken end into my knee holding rubber bands while trying to stand up.

I simply treat the hi lift as something that plans on eventually killing me. The government should be looking at banning hi lifts instead of guns cause that is one inanimate object that is actually actively looking to kill you.

They are useful but I tend to use em as a last resort

Have no fear, high lifts are in the future banned list Im sure. Along with air, bottled water, soda, and everything else that is dangerous in the world. I wonder, will life be banned after they figure out its 100% fatal.
