Did an oil change on a cavalier at work today that had 818322 miles on it. I asked the customer if it was correct and he said to his knowledge nothing was altered. And it looked it too... Had NO rear shocks, the back was smashed in and then pulled back out. Oh and when i asked for the keys he said the screw driver in between the seats :eek1:

I had one with 232,000 on it when I got rid of it. Dad bought it new in 89. Factory clutch, one water pump put on, two pairs of front brakes, one pair of rears, two sets of rear shocks and 4 sets of head light assemblies. Oh, and anything in the back seat got wet during a rain storm due to the lack of floor boards/rear fenders... Damn good little cars!

Yea I never had and problems with mine except i didn't fix the head gasket and one day it just let loose completely and cracked the block from over heating. I was doing 75 on the highway when the check gauges light came on. Back in the day when i didn't care about maintaining anything haha.

I did have to add a can of stop leak once every 2-3 years. Never overheated though, just started dripping around the right front corner of the head.

My Burb is pushing over 200k, but since the odo doesnt work, I'm not really sure as to the exact number.

BTW, is it bad if the rear wheel wells separate from the inside body panels?:eek1:

Terminal cancer, time to start :hack::weld::grind::smokin2:

My mom had an '85 Cavalier that was given to her by her brother. He bought it at a county vehicle auction for 500 bucks. When my mom had it, the entire cooling system had to be replaced except for a few odds and ends. Went through 2 complete sets of tires. Heater never worked. Also had to replace the windshield wiper motor on a snowy day. The car had 200K miles on it at the time my mom got it and I'm not sure what the mileage was when she got rid of it. She had to get rid of it when it wouldn't pass smog anymore and it would have cost way more than what the car was worth to fix it.

My DD 88 Corsica, has exactly 300,666 miles on it, sitting in the driveway right now. everything still works, and only a little cancer.

I had a 91 Corsica with the 2.2, aside from replacing the head gasket when my parents gave it to me at 168k, I never had to do anything else other than an alternator, starter, heater core, and water pump. I sold it to my sister at 280k, still running well, although not as strong as it originally was. She ran it another 20k before she let some dumbass wreck it.

I have a 98 malibu that is pushing 250k on it. Thats our nice car :o

The other car I drive is a 92 grand prix with just over 350k on it. Starting to rust a little but it was a Utah car can't be helped

But damn over 800k thats insane for any car

If my Cavalier hadn't gotten so rusty that the guy who passed it with a bad wheel bearing told me it wasn't going to pass next year, I'd still be driving it. Only reason it didn't get to finish out that year with me is I was living in town and the clutch started getting grabby when it got hot. Poor 'ol 2.0L didn't have enough umph to start off going up hill when the clutch grabbed. Sold it to a guy bound and determined to take it so South Carolina for $150. Kept my Z24 wheels and my stereo.

:eek1: 800k is damn impressive for anything burning gas :D. Whole different animal but, I was reading an article about a guys 01 cummins with 1.4 million on it and still towing his 5th wheel trailer everyday

thats crazy my cav made it 82 thou and blew head gasket.replaced that and got anether 15000 outof it until it cracked the head and had a meltdown.still ran so i got 500 bucks for it on tradein.guy said if he could move it onto the moving trl he would give me the 500.i couldnt believe it died at such a low mileage.the celica i traded in for that cav had 240,000 and barely burnt any oil.woulda kept it but was told "we" needed a family car with 4 doors.
