what do you guys think a high pinion dana 44(yes that is 44) drivers drop is worth? I have a line on one, and if I can get off work early tomorrow, I might pick it up to sell it on craigslist.

ALso don't forget to add the year and what model that Ford was.... it could make a difference in its value.

Shouldn't you be working???
it's out of ~78 furd 3/4 ton p/u. it is 8 lug.

Double check that front end . Most all F-250's in that time frame were standard cut geared units . The coil sprung F-150's were Reverse cut but most F-250's were not.
Does the pinion enter the housing above or below the center line of the gear ?

Tom

77.5 to 79 3/4 Dana 44s were high pinion. ALL 1/2 tons since the 60s were HP....I just picked up one that is complete less lockouts for $125. Not gonna retire early off these...

Why not the D44 in Brians ?

The larger brake calipers will fit in my 16" rims but then we'll have to mess with the shock mounts... and it's too early for me to get new driveshafts. :(
Better for me to get a 60 and be done with it.

Cool info to have ! I was under the impression that the stick shift divorced case F-250's still came with the standard cut front gears up to the 79 models . Thanks for catching that for me !

I saw the D44 up close and personal, it is definitely a HP and it was under leaf springs, not coils.
