So my son saw this truck with this stripe kit on the internet. It seems to be a high Sierra stripe kit. We have seen it on two trucks but can’t see if anyone sells it or we have to have someone do it for us in vinyl.

Can anyone help us see if this was a factory stripe package? He would love the truck to have a vintage flare. Thinking a steel gray or slate gray with this type of stripe package.

Personally, I think they only look good on round eyes. They, to me, don't fit the 80's models. they look out of place.

Since the desert fox was limited run special edition, I doubt you'll find repo.
Vinal wrap would be the best solution. Best value as well. Could be removed if you wanted

Low Sierra Company makes reproductions.

They are building a new website. I think the desert fox kit looks good on a later 81' and up truck since it does not go within the trim that would have been on an earlier round eye truck. I like the look on this one.

nice! thanks guys!

i think they are a little bold but my son wants a more retro looking truck. he is 16 and i wanted to allow him to make some choices and not have this be "dads truck" as he says.

thanks for the info!

My 77 High Sierra has a big white stripe down the middle of the body line. That many stripes of different colors is going to be very difficult to get it just right. A slight difference is going to really show up on those long lines. But if he is willing to either pay for the quality paint job or do it himself and really let the OCD kick in, by all means, let the kid go. Just so he knows up front what he's up against. The big white stripes on the High Sierra don't look bad, just have lots of trim but they do help cover up any imperfections of the paint lines.
