high temp paint question

I wanna paint my TPI like this guy (not same color) and was wondering if it can be done and last. My concern is the heat damaging the paint. I want to get some type of airbrushed flames or something along those lines otherwise I would just powder em. Thanks

little secret..... a good single stage urethane, such as Imron, will hold up better on engines than ANYTHING you can buy in a rattle can... period...

And like all painting, 99% of it is the prep work. A clean, greaseless surface will go a long way to making it stick and last.

I have painted a TPI system with normal rattle can paint from the local hardware store and it held up fine.

Cool! I couldnt remember how hot it got but I didnt think it was to bad.

I used Dupli-color engine paint. It only faded a little bit IIRC.

A lil late but I use VHT high temp header paint with ceramic. Napa carries it and you can check who carries there produck on there website. Ive used it on my sport bikes exposed exhaust pipe and just put a ton of it on my stock manifolds for my K5.
