Hey all, im replacing the hinge pins on my blazer. I got em out easy enough but getting the pin back in is proving to be difficult. The splines on the head are fighting me a bunch. I have hit pretty good but that mostly just dentthe collar some. Do I just keep smacking it or what?

I cant see how some guys do it without unbolting the doors for some clearance which is what I did. I also used 2 different lengths of pipe and a bottle jack to make a backer under the hinge. Otherwise like you said the hinges would have been bent to hell trryin to get the pins in. You must have the same kit from Ebay I used

Never taken the door off before to replace hinge pins 
... But since you have them off just go to a vise and use it like you would a press and be very liberal on the WD40

no such thing as to much lube 
well I got one on. I think what the problem was that the bottom of the pin was rubbing to much. It actually cracked the new bushing. I was very Happy t see it
I also bent the bracket up some hammering it in. Im gonna put the door on tommorow hopefully there are no issues. Then the Passenger side, fortunately I just have to do the top.
Is an air hammer out of the question?

Throw away the pin that you bought and go get the ones from autozone. there in the "help" section cost nearly nothin and install so much easier. this way you wont fock up your hinges

I'm not a hack but this $hit works. Step one- get floor jack, Step 2- get small piece of would and wrap a rag around it, Step 3- place jack with rag wrapped wood under bottom of door ( open door,duh), Step 4- slowly jack the door up very slightly!!! and then release pressure, Step 5- check fitment and continue steps 3-4 as needed. Again i am not a hack this is just one of those things that requires Brawn not brain.
