First month I could get them. :woot: Man I love the vintage look of them. Arizona guys, what does the Arizona 77 at the top mean?

Truck isn't anything special looking but it is to me

I like thoes plate also what do you have to do and how old does it have to be to get thoes plates?

All I had to do was ask them if I qualified. She said yaa its 25 years old, and that was the end of that. On the dmv website they say it may need inspection.

I don't believe so, I'll look it up.

febuary 14th 1[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]912. Hmmmmm

Any perks in having the hist. plates? Do they charge the $25.00/yr for the specialty plates?

$25 for the plate then 10 bucks after that. Other then they look cool there isn't a positive to having them. I really wanted them so I payed it up.

They started issuing those in 1977 IIRC . Thise plates were in current use when we got here in the 80's . Arizona became a state in 1912 :thumb:

I've got a historic plate on my 73 here in KY, and I pay like $2 a year for renewal. And it matches my truck color!

How old does a vehicle need to be to get historic plates in KY?

BTW - 666 posts, yikes!

What does the tag on the tailgate say? Is it Electronic Speed Control?

Electric spark control. I have no idea what it is, all I know is dad removed it. I should ask him what it is.

It was a box for your ignition , ties the knock sensor to your distributor , retarding your timing when spark knock is present .

Very common on high compression 305's that run on pump gas . If you can call slightly over 9 to 1 high compression

I ripped my ESC distributor out ( still own it ) and put in one for a 1976 Nova application . Cut the plugs off the harness underhood and tucked the wires back into the harness conduit . The ESC box still lives under my dash where I won't lose it . I will sell it when some weirdo who rubs his truck with a soft cloth diaper restores an 83 and posts up looking for one :thumb:

Thanks again Paul. That explains why it's not there, there is a 350 in place of the original 305.
