Hit and Miss welding Pisses me off, pics.

When I moved in this place the dish washer that was here was a German washer. The instruction book was in Germen only! It never worked right so I never used it. That was with my last girl friend. My woman of 9 years said we need a new D/W so I got the land lord to get us one.

Are you sure you don't mean CLOTHES washer? Those come in both 110V and 220V. Are all your 220 outlets in the garage on the same breaker? If they are and you are welding and the air compressor happens to kick on while you're welding that's probably your problem.

LOL! yeah man, Im positive. Our clothes washer/dryer is hooked up to the front house water and gas under a hutch, Im in the back house. I have to run a 50 ft cord out my back door to run 110 to them whenever we want to do wash. I can take a pic if you guys like lol! When ever Im welding and the compressor kicks on I stop and shut the welder off. I dont want to over heat the wireing. I think there are two seperate breakers for the dish washer and the garage. I dont run any 220 stuff at the same time. not saying I have not forgot a time or two though.

I would be interested in some pics of this 220V D/W. Also what brand is it? It must be a bad ass d/w to be 220V.

Ok tomorrow I will post pics. The new one which is about 3 or 4 years old now is a Whirlpool. Its nothing special, just a regular D/W. I will proove all you nay sayers wrong about a mystery 220V dish washer. :D :p: any cash wagers on this, huh, come on. :haha:

I got $15 that it is a 110V. You get me the model number too so I can look it up in my programs and it will tell me all about it.

So I've learned from this thread that welding is like golf and that 220v D/W are very rare if they exist at all. What else you guys got?:ears::haha:

The HREW I bought for my cage was shiny too...So add Canada to the shiny tube area of your map. :haha:

Now see if this was Justin having problems with welding we could just blame his heavy mouth breathing bolwing away the sheilding gas. That and the amish "wood" heritage clashing with the metal project. The mystery would be solved. And the dish washer would have hairly legs and wear a long black dress, and look like a female yeti.

If you like your stuff to be purty, spray the area about to be welded with antispatter first. Then the little boogers don't stick around the edges of the weld. MIG starts to look TIGish.

No wagers here. I just did a search and came up with all kinds of 220V dishwashers. In fact i came across 220V microwave ovens, refrigerators, ice makers and all kinds of other stuff i had know idea existed in 220V models.

Most of Europe uses 220V/240V power right?

It would be really easy for one of those appliances to find their way into an American kitchen.

Shiny tubing has been added to the list.:haha:

Hey turd, maybe you missed the thread about welding wood!:D

Don't tell the wimmens that D/W's exist! I love how her hairy kankles are exposed every time she reaches over to pick up another dish out of the washin' pot.:pimp:

220v appliances do exist, its just hard pressed to find them, and still working. Not saying their bad, but there used to be a big grey market for euro appliances.

Oh yah, wtf is anti splatter? I see it at home depot in the welding section, but.. didnt know what it was. The other thing I was interested in getting was the mig gun anti stick dip. After welding for like 10 minutes, the head loads up on crap.

Get both. That's how we professionals weld. Anti spatter is um...anti spatter. It antis the spatter from sticking to the metal around your weld, but doesn't mess up the weld.

I get it mostly on my gun, its annoying. I dont get so much on my welds, since 90* of my welding is thin stuff, less than 14ga. I guess I will have to try and find some anti splatter!

I just forget to use anti spatter most of the time on the welds. I use it on my gun so it does'nt load up though. I wire wheel the welds after welding anyways. Use a angle sander if I need to to get any off aswell.

OH MAN! :doah: there's egg on my face!! DAMNIT!!! It IS 110V !!!! The old dish washer was 220V!! :haha:LOL, you all should have took that bet. Looks like I owe Robert 15 bucks, thank god only one of you took me up on that bet. I was right on the old washer, I just assumed when we had it replaced the landlord put in what was there before which was a 220V D/W.

I have a vague recolection that when he looked at it he said you have a open plug (the one under the sink) So thats why he went with a 110V unit. the only other thing plugged in is ofcourse the disposal. There is a 220V plug behind the dishwasher I know for fact. Im not going to move the dish washer to take a pic though, too much trouble.

Thats ok you dont owe me anything. You just said I was right you were wrong so that is good enough for me. I guess I was wrong in a way though because I have never heard of a 220V D/W. Also even since there is I didnt expect a land lord to shell out the extra dough for one when he can just go to lowes and a buy a $250 D/W.
