I have an 88 with a 5.7 tbi with an HM290 transmission (the NV3500's older and more complicated brother) and i just lost reverse. I cant manage to get the lever into reverse at all. I understand these trannys are a biatch to work on (with the 4-rails) so i am going to upgrade to the nv3500. I assume they are 100% interchangable, but i was hoping someone could confirm.
