Did the research and I understand that the HMMWV rims won't fit on the front Dana 60 of the M1008. Or on my K5 which has a Dana 60. However, I have crossover high steering and no need of the tire rod "seats" or 'arms' on the knuckles. Is this where the rub is--literally? If so, couldn't I just whack that off the knuckle and use the HMMWV rims straight away?

You would end up with an incredibly narrow track width Hubnut. I bet the histeer arms would hit the HMMWV rims as well, mine are awful close to my rims.

This applies to me also. If it is only due to the stock offset what if they were re-centered, would they clear then? I don't want to use them, but maybe a small 1"-1.5" spacer?

Jove,
You're right. I measured and the HMMWV rims and they have nearly 8 inches of backspacing. The rim would hit the top of the kingpin/new steering knuckle top. What size spacer would make it work? 2 inch?? Would these hold up or am I asking for trouble. Hell, it's not worth it to recenter the rim.
