Hi guys,

The previous owner of my truck somehow managed to melt a hole on the underside of the clean air intake duct near the air filter housing. Obviously it's not ideal, but is it a big deal or just whatever? It's been bothering me for a long time, and junkyards aren't really an option here. Lmctruck doesn't offer that part for an 89 either, and I've struck out in the for sale section here.

If it seems like something I should fix, you guys know of any website that might carry it?

Thanks!

Won't matter. If you really want one though, hit up a junk yard. Probably a ton of them there and around $5.00.

I'll keep my eyes open for one. Otherwise learn to live with it or throw some of that "badass tape that sticks to itself" around it. :D

Wouldn't be different than some guys running open element filters. You're just sucking in a bit more hot engine air than the cooler air that should be going to. Like other said, duct tape it or find a JY one for a few bucks.
