So I am trying to get my 1972 truck back on the road.

I am running a street avenger 670. The carb was having issues so we did a rebuild on it. Got the floats set, and everything looked good until we fired it. After running (poorly) for just a few seconds it was very obvious that the carb was dumping way too much fuel. We shut it off and are now researching.

Our float level are good (adjusted them from lowest setting to just where they seep a little at the bottom of the sight hole), but we still are getting way too much fuel. We let the truck sit last night and when I went to recheck the float levels. The rear level was perfect, but the front bowl was completely empty. How would that bowl empty out? I am guessing this is our problem, and that under pressure where ever the leak is = the massive fuel we are getting.

Motor is 350 fresh rebuild with mild upgrades. I am learning carbs as I go so anything that can help teach me would be great.

Funny Carbs, Electrical and gear set ups are the hardest things to learn.

Check for a blown power valve for running poorly, don't know about the dry bowl would be PV related tho.

The power valve is on the front bowl metering plate so might cause bowl to drain ??

yep, the pv could be bad, or the gasket may not be sealing. both if bad enough will drain fuel from bowl.
