I got my 68 chey PU running today after the starter went out 3 or 4 years ago. The carb is a 600cfm holley. Besides the minior fuel leaks from dry gaskets, it pours fuel out of the secondary vent tube. It revs fine no vac leaks just fuel everywhere. I dont know crap about holleys but it was new with less than 2000 miles on it. why is it doing this?

Thanks

Bad fuel inlet valve or mis-adjusted. It could also be caused by particulate contamination of the needle. Try adjusting it or just replace and adjust.

Read this http://www.bob2000.com/carb.htm Lots of good solid Holley tech . Look near the top for common problems .

This is one of the reasons I partially diassembled my carbs if they are gonna sit too long .

I got to either sell or tear apart my Holley soon on the Chevelle ( I scored a Divorced Q-Jet for her ) :D

Thanks for the link. I knew I needed to rebuild it anyways just wanted to find out why it leaks fuel.
