Went wheeling with Dean (onetonbb74) who was running his 74 k20 on 1 tons w/lockers front and rear,42 Tsl's,brand new 350tbi,700r4,203/205 doubler triplesticked,6'' lift and a friend of his running a old dodge club cab powerwagon i didnt ask what year but needless to say the 76 k5 with a 4'' lift had some trouble keeping up :doah:. The brand new mt/r Kevlars performed flawlessly however (gotta love workin at goodyear). Anyways i got a slideshow of all the pics and put together a ''best of'' video so you guys dont gotta click through 40 different videos. hope ya'll enjoy .

thanks for making that video Greg, good times. Glad you were able to come out and play. Ill invite you for another trail run, just got to help you fix the front axle shaft and ujoint. Maybe ill take my Toyota out next time so its an even race until you get a rear locker.

That was definitley one of the most intense trips ive been on. What was wrong with the u-joints? They looked fine to me :dunno:, I thought i just broke the passenger stubshaft? Regardless im already on the search for one tons :thumb:. I'll save my current axles to rebuild for a mini project like a sand rail or something.

your u-joint broke at the cross (trunion), and since your hub was still engaged and your tcase was in gear, you kept spinning the stubshaft and it bent bad, both the stub shaft and u-joint need to be replaced and the inner axle needs to be inspected. hth.

ah ok i talked to my dad a little bit and i understand now. Very cool shet

p.s My dad said if i beefed up the 44 with all chromoly stuff, crossover, lockers etc... he would give me 80% of whatever i put into it when i went to a dana 60 as long as i helped him put it in the 73. That would help me get back to wheeling faster and i would lose almost nothing. Anything wrong with beefing up a 44 to run 40's or would i be better off sticking with the brand new 33's till i went to one tons?

I would beef up the 44 now, keep the 33's, then wait till 1-tons to get the 40's. I would hate for you to beef up the 44 and break it before you install it in the 73.

hell, pull the shaft out of the 73 and install it in the 76 and lets go wheeling again!!!!!

Alrite well considering i got a guaranteed 80% return on it i see no reason not to.

:haha:

yea. how fast were you going down that trail? that camra is going everywhere lol

I average 10-20 although hitting mini jumps over and over at that speed gets my front end airborne alot and makes for a rough landing. Thats why i installed a suspension off road racing seat on the driver side haha.

definitly drop me a line too. i'd love to head down that way to get a little seat time in.

people on ck5 with running trucks that actually go offroad. I thought we were all web wheelers :flipoff7:. Justt kidding ill definitley let you guys know before i go on my next trip which knowing me wont be long. I was getting heavy withdrawl symptoms after 3 1/2 months of no wheeling. Twice i was playing on curbs and patches of dirt and a cop came over and asked me what the fock i was doing and i just told him ''Wheeling withdrawl'' First guy went all magnum P.I on me and said he better not see me doin that again while he was smokin his cig. Then he tried to tell me about how he went wheeling with his buddy in his bronco :doah: I wish he woulda gaven me a ticket instead of making me listen to stories about his focking bronco :haha:. Second cop asked me if i was drunk to which i replied again ''wheeling withdrawl'' and offered to take a sobriety test and he just laughed and drove away.
