well i havent been driving my truck 2 school lately, mainly due to the puddles of gas all over my intake manifold!!!! it leaks out of some where in the holly 650cfm, cant find out where and dont have cash for a rebult kit for about 2 weeks:eek1: any body have this happen to them ???

I fixed the same problem....its called an edelbrock.
Ever since i put this new 1406 on my rig i haven't even thought about a carb. Before that i was screwing with the holley daily.

check your float bowls, Holly's like to leak from there and their metering blocks. I have dual holly's on my boat and they give me no problems at all. I set them up, jetted them once and have sense forgot they were even there.

are you positive that there is nothing in the needle and seats? that would cause fuel to run up and out of the vent tubes, at least while it is running.

yes but thae float device can still be stuck in the position so it will keep feeding gas in to the carb

Holley's also leak from the throttle shafts where they go through the base plate. It comes from having too strong of a return spring on the throttle cable or linkage. disconnect the spring and grab the end of the shafts and see if they wiggle back and forth. If they wiggle more than a few thousandths of an inch, you are pretty much buggered. There is nothing you can do about it except getting a new base plate.
Save your money and inject it.

it leaks when i turn it off and its all over the manifold from somewhere

it's prolly leaking all the time but the heat from the motor evaporates it when you drive it. Mine were constantly leaking on the throttle shaft.

I bought all these an tryed everyone and finally gave up. My edelbrock has never given me a problem.
BTW i still have 3 of them and they make nice paperweights.

you need to see where the carb is leaking from first, shut it off and have someone check to see what is leaking? out the vent tubes, the throttle shaft, main bowls, check the float levels, etc etc. Holleys have been OEM parts for vehicles for decades and they work reliably if you know how to fix them/ adjust them.

if it's a 4160 make sure you didn't pinch an O ring on the balance tube.
Also if the lock screw on the float adjuster is loose it'll leak from there.
