Holy Makeral...Nebraska Chevy Dealer Auction

oooh man, couple I'd like to have in those pics!

I wish I had some $$, looks like it is going to be a fun Auction. I would`ve loved to work at that dealership.

That's North of here an hour and a half. I've heard stories about that place for years.

That's crazy. I'd like to see the inventory list on that auction, and wish I had money too.

And small town family owned dealerships are pretty much a thing of the past around here.

Pierce NE is about 30 miles SE of our place, and we pass through there all the time.
There used to be vehicles parked around the outside of the building also, but a few years ago part of the building started to fall down. The lot was taped off and the building was on the verge of being condemned. They took part of the building down, did some repairs, and moved all the outside cars to a different location, and have kept the lot mowed up since then.
Several years ago I stopped and looked through the windows of the building, but couldn't see much but shapes of old dust covered cars.
Some of the vehicles may have roof or other damage, as the ceiling of the building had collapsed in several places

I hope they end up somewhere they can be documented to see how they really were back then.

Looks like a red 63 impala in the background of a coule pics. One of my dream cars.

I'm not much for documenting things, but the odds of finding more cars in this state of originality is pretty slim.

Most of them are damaged. Lots of them are out in a tree line, and lots of parts have been stolen.

Martin

of course...the big question is...are there any Blazer parts?

imagine what that corvette pedal car will bring. that kid was james dean of the block

That is for the most part correct. I have been by the outdoor "storage" area several times over the years. It is located just northwest from the edge of town, and just to the southeast side of the golf course. Many of the cars will not be able to be moved until trees and brush are cut down and out of the way. They have a tremendous amount of work to do between now and auction time. Chainsaws, brush grapple outfitted skid loaders, tele-handlers and several tilt-bed wrecker trucks should do the job.
A local guy who works part time for me in my farm shop is originally from Pierce, and has walked through the outdoor lot a few times over the years. He says there is everything form the teens to the 70's and maybe into the 80's out there. I know there are some square body Chevy pickups sitting along the road that look in pretty bad shape. Most are not in very good shape, they have settled down into the dirt, trees fallen down on them, windows broke and not repaired, and etc.

I may be passing through Pierce this afternoon on my way to Norfolk.
If I have time, I will make the 1 mile detour and get some pictures of the outdoor storage area.
