Holy Rust!

1st blazer is more my style and what I’d be interested in. Definitely need a project for my running gear. Thanks

not many more atm .

there is this one seems like a great 75 with 3 pedals too. price might be a little over the top. Who knows maybe there is barter room.

Thanks for looking and posting links here. I saw the ad for the ‘81 in Va last night. I might reach out to him on Monday. Thanks again fellas

Bumping this back up. I might be checking out a K5 this weekend. In the meantime I received some pictures of the rust/rot on the vehicle. From the pics, the rust looks super minimal. Here are the pics, let me know if you guys think..

Roof rust is a deal breaker for me. Keep in mind that these rigs rust from the inside out, so by the time you can see exterior rust it's already a big problem.

from a north east rust belt lifer .......... not looking to good in a few points .

how is the firewall seam behind the engine distributor ? thats another bad area .

you got atleast 3 bad areas of crap that be be a pain or money pit to fix .

I’ve been really reluctant about east coast vehicles. If I see an ad for a truck or blazer. I ask about the rust/rot in the cowl, A/B/C pillars, and roof.

Doesn’t look bad, but this is the only visual reference of it for now.

hydraulic clutch ? Banks Turbo? might be worth it for the mechanicals if the price is right

Wes, thanks for the links/ads. If I had more time. I’d check out some blazers from the southwest and Norcal.

The seller is asking $2500 for blazer in pics. Can’t tell if the motor is a 6.2 or 6.5. 3spd manual and not sure what tcase. The guy mentioned it needed body work… and the rear end needs to be rebuilt.

Zooming in on the 5th pic. There are several pinholes, rust spots and divots on the roof..

Roof rot is always a deal breaker unless you’re planning a body swap or an ORD build (convertible K30)

Speaking of that. I checked out the blazer on the way to work. Initial walk around. I could tell there are a lot of underlying issues with it. Fronts fenders have been off or were shifted into the doors from being in an accident or something else. There’s a decent amount of rust on tube at the B pillar location on both sides. The roof has 6-8” diameter divot in the center and probably had a depth 1/16” from the rest of the roof height.
