In case anyone was doubting me, here is the difference in quality SXL crosslink rated wire, and standard Napa "Primary wire". I placed each 14gauge wire directly in front of my 55.000 BTU Reddy Heater for 30 seconds. The primary wire was flaming in 3 seconds. The SXL made the popcorn sound it's supposed to, discolored a little, but never melted or exposed any of it's wire. ANd it's still flexible! This is why SAE says no GPT or primary wire in an engine compartment or within 8" of exhaust.

Any questions?
Next test, I'm going to take a piece of each in 10ga, and short a car battery, see how it holds up from the inside.

Too bad delcity's colors are limited. Looks like waytek has more of a selection for those who want to reproduce a harness more accurately.

Delcity has a more reasonable price (10ga SXL @ delcity is 0.20/ft , waytek is 0.28/ft, adds up in a big hurry). But yes, their colors are a little limited. But I'm just making a totally custom setup anyway, red always hot, yellow switched hot, black ground, blue for relay signals, green white and brown for gauge sending.

May not matter to you , but yellow is normally constant hot and red switched in aftermarket.
