Home built rear disk brake Q\'s

I got this truck...It has a 14bolt FF. It has rear disk brakes that are homegrown... I have to surrender the disks so I get a title (don't ask) I want to build them again. I have heard to get a front disk and caliper from a 44. And some bracket that holds it all in? Are the brake lines and portioning valves all the same? Can someone direct me to what it takes?
This is a link to the disks as they are now..

Re: Home built rear disk brake Q\'s

You need:
3/4-ton 4x4 front rotors (10B & D44 are the same)
1/2-ton front calipers (10B & D44 have different banjo bolt size)
1/2-ton front flex lines (10B or D44 to match your calipers or TSM)
Brackets (Misfit and DEBERBINATOR(sp?) sell them...check the for sale section)

This will set you up w/ disc brakes w/ no e-brake. If you want a e-brake you need either late 70's caddy calipers or a t-case e-brake from High Angle Driveline. I would not recomend line locks but some people still use them.

45acp also makes and sells them. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Home built rear disk brake Q\'s

the axle is a FF14bolt 8lug. wich calipers do I need? Are the misfit and deberbinator companies? I'll look at the FS board but want to make life easy...

Misfit and DERBINATOR as well as 45acp are all members on this site. They all make 14 bolt disc brackets.

Calipers are 1/2 ton fronts...Rotors are 3/4 ton fronts.

Calipers are both 1/2 and 3/4 ton pieces. They are the same thing.

But be aware that D44 calipers and 10 bolt calipers both use different size banjo bolts that hold the brake line to the caliper.
The D44 uses a larger bolt than the 10 bolt.
