home made beds

Im looking to make a different bed for my truck.. I wanted to use a regular 8 foot bed but I shortened the wheel base by 12" or so.

I do not have a torch (well, i dont have the bottles any ways)
i do not have a welder


i do have:

a drill
drill bits
bolts
wood saws
ratchets
sockets
and regular mechanics tools

anyone have any designs that are strong (the will hold a battery and a fuel cell?

withou metal fabrication?

you could make a copy of mine without fancy tools if you get someone to bend the sheet for you.

I gotta get pictures of my bed up. I think its the best a bed could be made with described tools.

I used 4 2x8's or 2x10's cant remember. 2 4x4's across the frame rails. Capped the edges with angle iron. Mounted my box and spare/jack. I also herculined the whole thing. You really have to look to tell its wood.
