This is a much stronger method IMHO than cutting the bottom out of your existing shackle hanger. Micah and I both used this method and it was easy to do and cheap, as in less than $10 bucks for the hangers and hardware in my case. The hanger is the front rear spring hanger from a 3/4 ton truck. It takes a little time with a tape measure to get the hanger in the right place and you will need to build a brace off the back side to the frame rail with angle iron.
