I have an 84 K30he tailgate chopped off (and about 8 inches of the bed). I'd like to make a Canvas cover to use to keep dust off gear when wheeling, and provide a mild theft deterrent when I am parked getting gas or having a bite to eat at a restaurant driving some place.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to make this in such a way as to not rip apart when I wheel (the bed flexes... a lot), allow access to parts of the bed when I need it on the trail (toolbox, fridge, recovery gear, etc), and to not have it flap around horribly when I am, on the highway?

I am thinking of using a thick military type canvas tarp, and sewing it and making grommets, etc.

Thoughts?
