Trying to sell my Yukon. Have it m/p and getting nothing but keyboard tire kickers and downright insulting offers. here is the link....

In my limited experience selling stuff on marketplace, it's 99% people that just send lowball offers to see what you say, with no intention of actually pursuing the vehicle.

Next time, I'm going back to Craigslist.

I need to find something with worthwhile to read. I get bored and end up on m/p, just to see whats there. But it blows my f'n mind what people are trying to sell and for the price. Seen a bunch of trucks with rusted frames, patched, not running for 5-6k. Then I'll get lowball offers, or someone telling me that I'm on crack for what I'm asking. I really need to sell it, work has been slow, only worked 2 days last week. I'm not getting rid of my other rides, selling this would help finish the other ones. Thought trading it would get me something that I could just flip.....

Seems like a good price to me. I have a friend looking for one like that, but we are many miles from you.

I would think now would be a good time to sell it in your area. Just gotta find another grarhead that understands the work and cost

Tax time is coming so maybe something will happen then. Just immensely pi$$es me off when someone low balls me. That's why I put the rant in the beginning of post. People that do appreciate what it is, just say that they can appreciate what's been done. Not that their interested in buying it. I'm looking for something to trade, but even when I see something that I like, that is LESS money than what I'm asking, I wont even get a response back. It just amazes me what I see, what their asking, and I can't get anything from mine. I know it ain't perfect, still needs some things, but the hard part is done. I just think I'm cursed when it comes selling stuff.....

Forgot to mention that I went to look at an 84 stepside for a trade. Can't believe what squares are going for. It was junk. Floor was patched, cab corners crooked, rocker with no backing, wiring hacked, old school chrome street rod steering column with no key, ghetto wiper switch, spray bombed black interior, gawdy bucket seats, frame was patched. Only kinda cool thing was the 14ff/10 bolt 8 lug axles, and the 4-speed OD trans. Oh and it needed a motor. Which at first didn't bother me, I have an extra Vortec 454 I could carb swap and put in, but it's not worth it, barely plow truck worthy.

This is usually why someone shoots a stupid offer. There are only a few who would actually show up to pick it up IF you accepted their offer. Most are just being rude because they have s stupid way of having fun.

And the ones that don't respond when you are interested in what they have for sale, well.. I just assume are very dense. I saw one truck sit for 2 months. I messaged two times in the first week. They never even opened the message.

Prolly just being an a-hole. I've had 1 person look at it. Kinda wish would have traded, Z-28 with 6-speed. Would been nice in my limited once the ZZ430/Ramjet clone is done....

I think your price is fine, but imo your wording may be putting some people off. I don't think insulting a potential buyer in the ad is a great tactic to convince people you are easy to work with. I've had my fair share of people flaking on marketplace and it's frustrating, but you still want to put your best foot forward on your listing.

Another thing I would look at is breaking down some of the terminology a bit. Your listing uses the term SAS a lot and I'm guessing most people don't know what that means without context. Expecting the average marketplace truck shopper to know that limits your pool of buyers significantly.

Not trying to be harsh, just my 2 cents.

Good luck, looks like a nice rig for the money.

It's all good!!! I put that in the wording cause I would get people that had no idea what was done to it. Had one guy tell me the dash was out of it, when it was just the bezel. I kept getting stupid a## people talking crap about it when they have no idea what went into it. But I've noticed you have to spell everything out to people or they won't stop. Funny, since I posted this I've gotten some interest in trades, and one buy outright.

Posted it in any of the lifted trucks or GMT400 groups?

I don't have Facebook or deal with market place for that reason, too many idiots and I don't have the patience anymore.
I don't even sell on Craigslist.
I buy from Craigslist that's all.
I only list here, and I sell locally

Doesn't help you deter the idiots, it just encourages them to harass you, but it is probably deterring potential buyers who assume you are a hot head. I see more text ranting than I do a description on the vehicle. I would recommend removing the rants, ignore any messages from idiots by leaving the group chat. They are not worth your time or raising your blood pressure.

Pictures show a lot of parts not connected like shocks and sway bar, so I would assume it is not a running/driving rig and a project without anything in the description about the drivetrain condition. I think those pics are old since there is no snow, but just be aware if you show pics that are not current, it can reflect a condition that is not current as well.

My #1 recommendation for any vehicle add is to clean it off and get current pics. Do not use build pics or random pics from 3 summers back. They allow for 20 pics and 1 video, use them all. If it is a running/driving vehicle, show that in the video, on the street if street legal. If it is a project, list out what is not done to make it roadworthy.

I was going to say the same thing. Whether you like the truck or not, it kind of looks like the seller will be a PITA to deal with. I understand that there are bunch of fart knockers out there that ruin things, but you only need 1 good buyer and that buyer may not try any stupid games. I agree with listing out your rules/criteria in the auction, but being more polite shouldn't reduce the effectiveness of that.

CL is pretty bleak these days.

Sometimes less is more . Keep it simple and light .

Some people ( most ) cant handle the super details .

Price looks good for our area buddy .

I'll get rid of the BS other than the description itself. But, I haven't had any stupid people or offers lol. The couple people that have read it, they understand why i did it. But not everyone will understand. I'm at the point where almost don't care anymore if it sells. It really doesn't need too much to finish, just don't have the money right now. But if it don't, I'll finish it, maybe paint it and sell it for more. Thanks for the input all!!!

It was pretty dead in my area for a while. But lately it seems to be getting a resurgence. Maybe from the poor marketplace etiquette.
Could be, FB market place is a disaster with people being able ot rate ads now i just see everyone laughing at everyone's post now.
