I know this is early and we are all getting over the shock of it all.

I would like us to some how honor Jason at the BBQ or out on the trail.

Maybe a slideshow at the BBQ with pic's of us wheeling with Jason over the past few years?

He was too much a part of our family here to not give him the respect and honor he deserves while we are at Moab.

He was in the middle of a build up and he was set on making the Bash as he always does. I am still sick to my stomach at the thought of what has happened.

What do you all think?

Although I didn't know him personally I think it would be a nice touch to honor him in some manner. I'm planning to fly black ribbons on my cb antenna.

Ribbons, flags or stickers would be cool to sport on our rig's for our fallen brothers.

I was also thinking we should have "remembrance" get together on one of the trails for a moment of silence and kind words.

Knowing mrk5 he'll probably work with Steve to produce the stickers in short order. It would be nice to have a coordinated ribbon color to fly. I think Fred's idea of black is a good choice. It would be quite a tribute to have all the Blazer Bash rigs flying the black ribbon for the duration of the event.

OD green ribbons would be the most fitting IMO.

I will even istall an antena on the buggy just for this.

We are working on getting something together for the event.

There is a DVD being made for the remembrance gathering that would be nice to show there.

Please keep us updated on how/where to get the DVD.

We can show this very easily.

Yes, I remember in 05 someone had a slideshow. I think Jason was the one who set it up IIRC?

Jason's uncle recommended a trophy or something we could pass on each year and call it the "Jason Payne" award. Maybe for the most favorite rig at the bash or whoever has the most breakage on the first day. This trophy could be passed on each year to start a tradition.

I have access to some cool broken parts and could weld them together and have them mounted if you guys think it would good idea.

It may be more appropriate to make the trophy out of broken peices from Jason's truck. If the award is named after him why not make it with his parts. I saw a lot of broken parts laying around his garage today.:D

I was thinking longest distance award because he always made the long trek from California. That had to be one of the longer distances travelled to BB, and he did it several years.
