On my 7 4 blazer I have an issue with the hood not lining up. It latches fine but the rear sides dont lay all the way down. The passanger side is a good 1 1/2 inch high and the drivers side is about 1 inch high. I really dont know why this is. Is it the hinge itself being worn? I know when I removed the hinges, the rivets on them were a little sloppy. But without the springs they lay down fine. Any one else have this issue? I know LMC sells hinges. Are they good quality?

from what I have seen, it is usually the hinges. But when it does that, I have always been able to actually push the hood down so it is level with the fenders.

I can push it down but when I drive it they just find their way back. II wonder if some grease will do anything.

Mine does that, too. I also think the hinges are worn out, but my hood has been repaired from apparently being folded, too. My truck ain't pretty, so I'm not worried about it.:D

Im just wondering if the LMC hinges are good quality. I bought some hinges for my tailgate on my 71 and they were garbage. I ended up sand blasting the old ones and reusing them. My truck is pretty clean so im trying to do what I can to keep it looking good. Can the springs keep it from closing? I noticed they are under load when it is closed.

humm i have the same problem mine sticks up about an ince each side ill be interested to see what you do

Im thinking of putting some grease on them and see what they do. If that doesn't work then maybe Ill try the hinges from LMC.

Keep me posted my 74 does the exact same thing. I have really not looked into it very much vet I have had other issues to deal with first. BUt I would like to know if fix if there is one.

if your hood goes down in the back when pushed on and then raises back up when driving, greaseing them wont help.

i have purchased some stuff from these guys and very good quality.

I have gotten parts from them too just not the hood hinges. And you know how some times these heavy pieces can be junk compared to OE. Maybe Ill get them and if they are crap Ill send them back. I bought a rear tail gate piece from these guys before and sent it back on them no problem when the quality was bad.
