Hood Ornament

Looking for information on the factory placed hood ornament. I am rebuilding a 87 Silverado Blazer. I’d like to add a factory hood ornament, but I can’t figure out what models and years got them vs. which did not. Thank you in advance for any help.

The LMC Catalog has a section selling hood ornaments. I believe it details year models and types of ornaments.

Thank you. I see that they have the different years and which ones where used those years. I am specifically looking for which models got them. Many Blazers do not have the ornament. Rarely I’ll see them. I’m looking for which color or trim sets got them. It’s not just “Silverado’s”. As you will find some with and some without .

I wonder why they don’t reproduce the earlier hood ornaments for 73-77. My 74 has a hole for one but didn’t come with it

I can remember my mother’s new 87 k5 had a bow tie emblem, as does my 89. And I still have the box of a NOS hood ornament. Don’t know if the part number will help your search though.

There wasnt an RPO code for hood ornament was there? Or was it included with a specific trim package?

The RPO would likely be for the overall trim package. Parts manual would probably indicate which RPO(s) a hood ornament went with, along with years applicable.
