Hood Pins

Anyone here run hood pins? I am going to have to trim my hood latch brace alot to fit the 8274 winch in the grill and going to loose some structure. Want to install a secondary just-in-case type deal so thinking pins. Anyone seen them on 1st gen? work ok?

What? You don't want to use those rubber Jeep-style stretchy ones on the sides??

I had the key-locking type on my '72, but wouldn't recommend them because I easily broke two keys...on pavement. I wonder what would happen with a rig being twisted up on the trail & trying to unlock the pins.... I'm going to do the hairpins this time around.

I don't want locks, just regular pins. Am afraid if needed to get under hood in a hurry the locks would cause a problem, plus whats to lock when the wheel wells are freegin huge and no inner fenders

ive got 'em on my 1990 k5...had em welded up too cuz with all the vibration n twistin n what not they started comin loose...i also have small master locks for the pins when the truck sits for a spell
