Anyone here run hood pins? I am going to have to trim my hood latch brace alot to fit the 8274 winch in the grill and going to loose some structure. Want to install a secondary just-in-case type deal so thinking pins. Anyone seen them on 1st gen? work ok?

What? You don't want to use those rubber Jeep-style stretchy ones on the sides?? :D

I had the key-locking type on my '72, but wouldn't recommend them because I easily broke two keys...on pavement. I wonder what would happen with a rig being twisted up on the trail & trying to unlock the pins...:haha:. I'm going to do the hairpins this time around.

I don't want locks, just regular pins. Am afraid if needed to get under hood in a hurry the locks would cause a problem, plus whats to lock when the wheel wells are freegin huge and no inner fenders ;)

ive got 'em on my 1990 k5...had em welded up too cuz with all the vibration n twistin n what not they started comin loose...i also have small master locks for the pins when the truck sits for a spell
